History of Numerology
Numerology has ancient roots and can be traced back thousands of years to civilizations such as ancient Egypt, Babylon, China, India, and Greece, where numbers were often believed to have spiritual or symbolic significance. One of the most influential figures associated with numerology is Pythagoras (c. 570–495 BCE), who taught that numbers underpin the structure of the universe and possess unique qualities.
Over time, numerological ideas were incorporated into various religious, mystical, and philosophical traditions. Modern Western numerology developed primarily in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, combining concepts from Pythagorean teachings, astrology, and other esoteric systems. Today, numerology is widely used as a tool for self-exploration and spiritual guidance, although it is not considered a scientific discipline.
